New 'Art Gallery' open on Radiant Light Website

We are pleased to announce the release of a new online Art Gallery on this website, showing many of Elizabeth Wang's pictures for the first time. There are fifteen exhibitions to view, on subjects such as prayer, the spiritual journey, the Mass, and the story of Christ. Our hope is that people who visit the Art Gallery will be moved and inspired, and will see something of the beauty and glory of God through these pictures. (Click on 'Art Gallery' to view exhibitions).

Other recent additions to this website include a new 'Photos' button (with photos of Radiant Light events), a 'Year of the Eucharist' button (with an exhibition of pictures on the Mass), and a 'Prayer Corner' button (showing one prayer picture each day).

Ongoing work

Elizabeth has just finished writing a new book called 'The Purpose of the Priesthood – A Message from Christ'. It contains 10 colour paintings, and the text is based on a talk that Elizabeth was invited to give to priests last October. (Click on 'Publications' button for details). She is still in the process of painting a series of new watercolour pictures for a book for children about the Mass.

'Apostleship of the Sea' publications.

In the past few months some of Elizabeth's artwork has been used by the Apostleship of the Sea in its recent publications, all of which are part of its work to evangelise. A painting called 'Surrounded by Christ's Love' has been printed as posters and prayer cards for seafarers. This painting shows Christ, standing above the globe, looking lovingly upon the world. His light shines on to the world below and silhouettes several ships on the horizon. The meditation with the painting is:

"As a ship on high seas is surrounded and held up by water, so are we entirely 'surrounded' and held up by God's love".

A large reproduction of the painting was unveiled by Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor at the gathering for AOS members after the Annual National Service for Seafarers, St Pauls' Cathedral in October. Elizabeth Wang attended and was grateful to see her work being used for such an admirable cause. (See photos by clicking on the 'Photos' button).

The picture 'Surrounded by Christ's Love' was also reproduced in the AOS Calendar for 2005, along with 11 of Elizabeth's pictures about the Mass. The calendars, posters and prayer cards were distributed to seafarers by the AOS. The AOS hopes to translate the prayer card into Russian, Chinese, and other languages so that it can be given to many more seafarers.

Last year's exhibition on the Mass in London.

Last Spring Radiant Light organised an exhibition of pictures about the Mass, by Elizabeth Wang, at the French church, Leicester Square. Hundreds of people visited the exhibition, called 'Touching Heaven', over the 9 weeks that it was on display, and it seemed to help many to a greater understanding and love of the Mass. On May 15th, there was also a Votive Mass of the Holy Eucharist at the French church, organised by Radiant Light. The preacher was Mgr. John Armitage, Vicar General of the Brentwood Diocese, who gave an inspiring homily about the Holy Eucharist and its importance in our lives.

Radiant Light Resources.

Over the past few months Radiant Light pictures and resources have been used by a number of different organisations, such as:

We are really pleased to be involved with these groups, and hope that the use of the pictures helps them in their different apostolates. Radiant Light resources have been available at Radiant Light stalls held at Hereford Catholic Conference, Youth 2000 and at an 'At Your Word Lord' day.
