Last Summer's London art exhibition now viewable online

In Summer 2006 Radiant Light organised an exhibition of Elizabeth Wang’s artwork called ‘Finding Christ, Finding Life’. The exhibition was enjoyed by many people during the three months that it was on display in the French Church at Leicester Square, London. We hope that the exhibition encouraged visitors in their relationship with Christ. The pictures from that exhibition are now viewable online in the Art Gallery at this link:

To go with the exhibition theme, we organised a time of prayer and reflection at the French church on September 9th. It was a lovely afternoon, and around 100 people heard inspiring talks by Mgr. Keith Barltrop (Director of 'CASE'), Sr. Amadeus Bulger CJ and Elizabeth Wang. Many thanks to the French church for their hospitality whilst the exhibition was on display.

New 'Picture Archive' Room in the Art Gallery.

Another exhibition which has recently been added to the online Art Gallery is ‘Picture Archive: A Spiritual Journey (Room 2)’ which can be seen at: http://www.radiantlight.org.uk/art_gallery_archive_room2.php

This contains images of 82 monochrome watercolour paintings which are part of a larger set. Elizabeth has also painted many of these monochrome paintings in full colour, and these colour pictures are the ones which make up most of the Art Gallery. So some of the images in this monochrome set are the first versions of more well known pictures.

EWTN series on St John's Gospel.

Last month Frances Hogan filmed a series for the U.S. Catholic TV station EWTN about St John’s Gospel. Throughout this series, a number of Elizabeth’s pictures will be shown to illustrate some of the passages of Sacred Scripture. Frances is very experienced in speaking about the Scriptures, so it should be an inspiring set of programmes. The programmes will probably be aired sometime in 2007. When there is further news about this it will be on the News section of the Radiant Light website. EWTN is available in the UK and in other countries through satellite.

First anniversary of online Art Gallery launch

Last May we celebrated the first anniversary of the Radiant Light online Art Gallery. Since its launch in May 2005 it has received about 227,000 hits, and now displays over 300 of Elizabeth's pictures in 19 exhibitions. The pictures which have been visited most during the year are: 'Christ is our bridge to Heaven', 'The Father's tender touch in prayer' and 'Christ amongst His people'. In his recent encyclical Pope Benedict wrote “Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction”. We hope that the online Art Gallery will continue to help people in their encounter with the Lord.

"Thankyou for one of the best catechetical sites" (Fr Mark, Wisconsin, USA, 2005).
