Coming soon – 600 free high quality art downloads
At the moment the Radiant Light online Art Gallery contains about 350 pictures at low quality, with 30 of these available as free high quality downloads (for certain uses). In the next few weeks we will be increasing the size of the Art Gallery so that it displays over 600 pictures by Elizabeth Wang, and all will be available as free high quality downloads. We hope that this will be a kind of visual catechism for a visual age, a valuable resource for schools and parishes, and for personal prayer. This will also include a more advanced search and sort facility. The pictures will be viewable as exhibitions, or in order of 'most viewed', or according to certain keywords. It will cost a lot to make these changes to the website, and any donations to 'Radiant Light' would be gratefully received, if you would like to donate, click on this link: http://www.radiantlight.org.uk/appeal.php
160 people gather for afternoon of prayer and reflection

On 15th Sept 2007, 160 people gathered for an afternoon of prayer and reflection at the exhibition 'Christ Amongst Us: Love Made Visible', at the French church, Leicester Square, London. Fr Stephen Wang introduced the afternoon which included a talk by Canon Digby Samuels on the exhibition theme, and a talk by artist Elizabeth Wang on 'Courage and perseverance in practising and defending the Catholic Faith'. The afternoon was a lovely way to end the exhibition which had been on display in the church since July, and it was great to be able to pray together and to encourage one another in faith.
Elizabeth Wang gives talks about her artwork and the 'Call to Holiness' to school children, and to wheelchair users

In the past few months Elizabeth has been asked to give talks to primary school children in Coventry and in Hertfordshire. She showed some of her artwork, and was also able to view some of the children's own drawings about prayer and the Christian life. She also spoke to a group of 14 year olds visiting from Scottish Jesuit school at the summer art exhibition in the French church; and she led a day retreat for wheelchair users in London using some of the exhibition prints. Elizabeth is a wheelchair user herself so was pleased to be able to speak with the group.
Feedback about how people have been using art downloads
We've received some great stories of how people have been using the free high quality art downloads all around the world. Radiant Light pictures have been used: in a prayer group in Malaysia, at a service to welcome the World Youth Day Cross in Australia, for personal prayer in Ireland and South Africa, in Powerpoints and blogs in the USA; in the UK they have been used in prisons, at worship events, in study sessions, in children's liturgy, for projection in a college chapel, for RCIA, First Holy Communion, and in religious education in schools.
New web page for teachers
A new page directs teachers and catechists to information on the Radiant Light website which may be of particular interest if they wish to use Radiant Light artwork in their classes, e.g. there is information about free downloads, posters and postcards. High Quality Art Prints now available from 'The Bridgeman Art Library'
For some time Radiant Light has published A3 size posters of some of Elizabeth Wang's pictures. People have often asked whether we can produce larger, higher quality prints of some of the images, but this has been too difficult and costly for us to do ourselves. We are delighted that high quality art prints are now available 'on demand' from The Bridgeman Art Library according to specific, individual requirements. Bridgeman has 42 of Elizabeth Wang's pictures available for sale as high quality fine art prints or as canvases, in a variety of sizes, with or without a frame. These prints can only be ordered through the Bridgeman website. More details are at this link: http://www.radiantlight.org.uk/publications_high_quality_prints.php
